  • Phone number (required for tag owners; optional for finders depending on message flow)
  • Messages sent through the OmpuTag platform

  • Device type, browser type, and operating system
  • Date and time of interactions
  • Basic usage and diagnostic data

We do not require users to create accounts to interact with found items.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Enable anonymous, proxy-based SMS communication between finders and owners
  • Deliver messages and service notifications
  • Operate, maintain, and improve OmpuTag
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or misuse
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

4. SMS Communications and Consent

  • By registering a tag, tag owners consent to receive SMS messages related to that tag.
  • Finders consent to receive SMS responses by initiating communication.
  • Message frequency varies
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • Reply STOP to opt out of SMS messages
  • Reply HELP for assistance

Opting out of SMS may limit or disable core service functionality.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We share information only:

  • With service providers (such as SMS or email providers) solely to operate the service
  • When required by law, legal process, or governmental request
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of OmpuTag or others

All service providers are bound to use data only for authorized purposes.

Message data and related metadata may be deleted or anonymized after conversations end or upon request, subject to legal requirements.
